NEPTUNE - PLANKOWNER ONLY

When it came to designing the NEPTUNE, we wanted people to feel confident in the reliability of our dive watch. NEPTUNE is the result of two years of development, prototyping, and testing. We had experienced divers and engineers from the special operations community and MIT fielding NEPTUNE, resulting in multiple revisions and iterations on the texture of the crown, crown guard, spring-bars, and bezel insert materials. We tested a multitude of bezels to ensure that its seal is tight, but loose enough to allow subsurface manipulation with gloves. Once the prototype was finalized the real-world testing began.

This was a special project with 60 veterans, active duty service members, and scientists from MIT & Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute that field-tested the NEPTUNE for over 300k hours combined, all over the world with zero issues. We also put NEPTUNE through an independent third-party testing company to ensure it exceeds the ISO 6425 standards for diver's watches. Just like we earn our right to wear our various badges and unit crests in the military, Sangin Instruments has earned the right to use terms anti-magnetic, shock-resistant, chemical resistant, and DIVER'S WATCH.

This is The NEPTUNE; A Marine Raider’s take on a gentlemen’s combat diver’s watch. Sleek and refined exterior with an interior built specifically for rugged subsurface usage.

STORY:

Our individual journeys are often uncertain. At times, one may travel to sandy, dry, hostile locations. Others may find themselves in suits in a sunny tropical environment, briefing commanders, and Ambassadors at an embassy. The tools and gear must be multi-dimensional and adaptable.

While we were experiencing this environment shift first-hand on our last deployment, we realized that the most common identifier for members of the military was the watch we wore. Mainly large, black, ugly rubber watches. Going from shop to shop, we found the watches we wanted were far too expensive. We needed a watch that would not attract any unwanted attention from locals or other travellers. We wanted a watch that could be worn with a suit while we briefed an ambassador or a commander, but one that could also be worn during kinetic situations on patrol or in the field.
